Heres some other reds prospects numbers in other leagues A. Chacin has pitched 2 innings has 2k's and 1hit Yorman rodriguez is on the Liga Venezuela Beisbol roster, he has not seen action yet Alas, few people care about performances in the AFL (I do!), and far fewer probably care about the Venezuelan, Dominican, Mexican, or any other winter league. Its baseball 24/7 365 for me haha i enjoy football when its the playoffs. When november 21 gets here (thats a college football saturday) Ill be relaxing watching the fall league championship game, while my friends watch football and heckle me thru text message

In the Peoria Javelinas' second game Phil Ervin played LF and went 1/5 with a run scored. Chad Wallach went 1/4 with 2 K as the DH. None of the Reds pitchers got into the game.

In the Peoria Javelina's third game they lost, although none of the Reds pitchers pitched. Alex Blandino started at 2b, again, and went 1/4 with 1 R, 1 BB, and 2 K. Phil Ervin started in CF and went 1/4 with 1 R and 1 RBI. Ervin hit a double and stole two bases.
I'm not surprised to see Blandino being used at 2b (rather than SS), and I'm happy Ervin got a start in CF (rather than LF or DH).

After spending the season in advanced A Daytona he'll arguably be having his toughest challenge yet (I mean, I guess rookie ball at age 18 and Dayton at 19 were challenges for him, but hey...), facing more advanced hitters than he's used to. Hopefully he does well! It seems like Travieso has been in the organization forever (although 2012 isn't that long, I guess), it's hard to believe that he's still a few months from turning 22. If he had chosen to go to college he would've only recently been drafted. Random note, he's part of a very strong draft class for MLB. He was drafted after Carlos Correa, Byron Buxton, Mike Zunino, Kevin Gausman, Andrew Heaney, Addison Russell, and SS Gavin Cecchini... but ahead of Lucas Giolitto, Corey Seager, Michael Wacha, Marcus Stroman, Brian Johnson... SS Daniel Robertson, C Kevin Plawecki, Stephen Piscotty, Joey Gallo, Lance McCullers... and Jesse Winker. Those are just guys in the top 50 I think highly of... There's still several years for Travieso to turn into a successful MLB starter, but he's sure an easy pick to second guess. If the Reds had chosen Corey Seager, Michael Wacha, or Marcus Stroman instead I doubt anybody would object.

Nick Travieso had his first start rained out for the second time today. First he was going to pitch on Friday, but rain. No games Saturday or Sunday. On Monday someone else was schedule to pitch, with Travieso moved back to today, only to see another rainout. Ugh.

I'll have none of this nonsense! It's the baseball gods that are to blame. Not the 'rain gods'. Silly people and their false idols. But yeah, excellent outing for Travieso. He ended up pitching 3 innings with 1 BB and 4 K. No hits, no runs. At least by box score he outpitched highly-regarded Sean Manaea. Blandino (2b) and Ervin (CF) are also playing in that same game.

Phil Ervin played CF on Thursday, and went 2/4 with a strikeout. He stole his third base of the season. The other Reds didn't play.
On Wednesday Ervin also played CF, going 0/2 with 2 BB and 1 R. He also had an outfield assist. Alex Blandino played 2b in the same game, going 0/2 with a run scored. And Travieso pitched, as we already mentioned.

Nick Travieso started again on Monday the 26th. He pitched 4 innings with 5 H, 1 R, 0 BB, and 3 K.
CF Phil Ervin went 1/2 with a 2b and a BB.
So far both are putting up decent numbers early (Ervin's OBP is .385) in the AFL, albeit in a very small sample size. It's not too late for a big day to turn around Blandino's fortunes either.

Travieso's average fastball velocity was over 95mph in the start and he topped out at 97. Although he knew he was only throwing half or 2/3rds as many pitches as usual, basically a long relief appearance... just sayin'. But yeah, nice to see.

Travieso pitched again on Friday, arguably even better this time. 5 IP, 3 H, 1 R, 1 ER, 0 BB, 6 K. He threw 68 pitches, 43 for strikes.
Stephen Johnson pitched after him, allowing a hit in a scoreless inning. He has yet to give up a run through 6.2 innings, although his 1 K isn't very impressive.
Blandino finally did something, getting 2 hits, raising his average to .161.
