I'll probably watch part of the AL Wild Card game (tonight), most of the NL Wild Card game (tomorrow), but very little of the Division Series and League Championship Series. The appeal of the Wild Card game(s) to me is that it's merely one game that ends a team's season. Aside from the World Series, I don't care to watch any of these involve teams' multi-games series.
I don't care much about the playoffs, but the Wild Card games are big and only take a few hours.

I like postseason baseball because I usually don't care much about who wins or loses if the Reds aren't involved. Just the last chance to watch baseball for months, and obviously the standard of play is pretty high...

I couldn't possibly care less. Won't watch a second of it. My father asked me when the wildcard games were, and I said I don't know. My daughter's useless as a source of playoff information, a mark of my failure as a parent. She knows the Cards and Bucs made the postseason because general knowledge of NL Central news relates at least informally to full family membership...

Moss is injured, I don't think starting him at cleanup against a good rhp gives the A's their best chance to win; Dunn should be dh... I suspect that the A's acquired Lester so that they wouldn't have to be in the Wild Card game, but now that they are this game seems like a referendum on the Cespedes trade. Not often that you get that kind of immediate and explicit grade on a trade. Now that I think about it, this game will also be a referendum on the Royals' Wil Myers/James Shields trade. Depending on who wins, that fan base will be able to justify the moves of their GM.

Yeah, I think Moss disappearing has had a major impact on views of that trade: 21 hrs at the break, 25 for the season, truly dreadful second half in the middle of the order. No way I would start him against Shields...

It really placed the spotlight too squarely on the absence of Cespedes.

For the record, go A's!!
Still, this should be a fun matchup. And, it's nice to see a postseason without the Yankees, BoSox, or Rays.

Josh Donaldson doing a nice job laying off 2-strike pitches in the dirt.

Wow.
Brandon Moss crushes a 2-run homer.
I was wondering why they went with Moss at DH instead of Dunn. That answers that.

So much for not starting Moss, 2-0 A's... I wonder if Shields did Moss a favor by throwing him changeups. Maybe, with his hip problems, he'd be better off with heaters.
