In past years, it's been useful to have all the postseason discussion in one thread rather than setting up threads for individual games. Maybe more so this season, since the Reds aren't participating...

I'm going to forecast a World Series featuring the Athletics and Nationals.

I'm rooting for Edinson Volquez and the Pirates against the Giants. I think the Pirates need all the help they can get. Also the Reds contributed to the Pirates losing the NL Central. And I'll be rooting against the Cardinals in every round.

Would be cool to see the Royals do some damage.
Anyone but the Cardinals tbh

All them arrogant yinzers need is another reason to act like douchers. Send home Wednesday Frisco! Plus I have an arrogant friend that is a Pirates fan that tries constantly to argue the 70s Pirates were just as good as the Big Red Machine. That remark makes me want to kick him in the stomach, power bomb him, slap on a figure-four, then an atomic leg drop for good measure. Oh yeah, and an elbow drop of the top of the couch.

I'm generally not the "Bring it on!" type, but when some fool begs to walk into the gears, I'm not obligated to stop them...

I wouldn't mind seeing Oakland or Kansas City and Pittsburgh do well. I guess I'd predict an LA series: Dodgers vs. Angels. I like players on both teams, no problem with it...

That remark makes me want to kick him in the stomach, power bomb him, slap on a figure-four, then an atomic leg drop for good measure. Oh yeah, and an elbow drop of the top of the couch. I'm NOT rooting for the Pirates to win the NL pennant or a World Series. I'm rooting for the Pirates to beat the Giants in the 1 game Wild Card playoff, before being beat to a pulp by the Nationals in the NLDS. A slight boost to Pirate fan moral before BAM, the rug gets pulled out from under them. A punch to the gut. I laugh at Pirates fans, like I do Cubs fans, and I want their demise to be thoroughly painful. I don't have the Pirates' best interests in mind, I have generating the greatest pain and dismay in Pittsburgh as the priority. Previously I was hoping for a 1 game playoff for the NL Central Champion, before the loser got sent to face the Giants. That would've been the most horrendous situation for both the Cardinals and Pirates, and they only barely avoided it. The Pirates losing that game to the Cardinals and then ALSO losing to the Giants in the 1 game Wild Card playoff would also have been thoroughly and sufficiently painful. I'm hoping for a Dodgers vs Nationals NLCS, before either team (preferably the Nationals) hopefully facing the A's (or Tigers or Orioles are okay also) in the World Series. In my opinion a NLDS like the Reds played in 2010 is more painful than a Wild Card loss like they faced in 2013 (or back in 1999 against the Mets). The 1 game playoff format offers too many and too specific questions about what went wrong (if they did _____ instead of _____ they would have won! .... rather than 'they tried everything and kept losing!') to be be as painful as seeing the team overmatched for 3-5 games. Just my opinion, of course.

I'm routing for the winner of the A's vs. Royals matchup. I hate not having a National League team to rout for. Maybe the Nat's will grow on me. I kinda feel I will end up routing for the Fighting Showalters before it's all said and done.

About 10 days ago I saw the Giants at 14-1 and thought that was to high, so I am rooting for San Fran. That being said I go to a university in which at least 75% of the students were born and raised between Richmond, VA and south Maryland. If the O's happen to play the Nats in the World Series the main college bar would be a scene during the games.

I couldn't possibly care less. Won't watch a second of it. My father asked me when the wildcard games were, and I said I don't know. He said how in the world do you not know, I told him when the Reds season is over I don't care anymore. Though, I'll admit this, the fact that this is the first playoff since 1993 that has not had a NY Yankee or BOS Red Sox squad in it does peak my interest a little bit. Derek Jeter had not even debuted yet.
