Great question, Schellis; I've been thinking about a few of the teams that haven't had players assigned...
For what it's worth, the Athletics seemed interesting initially because of their long history, stretching back to Philly. But the more I thought about the great early players, the less likely they looked as candidates. Connie Mack routinely sold players for quick cash, and those on my list all spent major parts of their careers with other teams, like XX and Al Simmons. I think the leader for the A's probably played for them after the team left Philly in '55...
Assuming this doesn't count as a guess, just ruminating...
