Yes I was one of the few that supported this so called goat all along!! Most fans wanted him gone after he choked up the Giants series!! All I got to say is to be careful what you wish for!! Before dusty got to town the reds had several losing seasons and even if he did not win the big one he at least took em to the postseason!!

They fired him, because without him things couldn't ever go badly for the Reds. He was to blame for everything. Anyone could do better. DUHHHHH.
Now we're back to the pre-Dusty mentality of just hoping to finish over .500, and everyone's happier.

You can't blame the Reds for not being content with just making the playoffs. You play to win the game. Dusty's never been able to win a championship as a manager. He was out-managed tactically by Bruce Bochy in that series against the Giants. The playoffs are more about the tactical, on-field managing than harmonize a clubhouse and stroking player egos. Hell, watching him sitting silently, smirking as Phillips called C.Trent a "fat boink" in the middle of Dusty's media session might have sealed his fate unless he got to and/or won a World Series.
What good is regular season success if it doesn't lead to postseason success?

Dusty sucked. Price sucks. Bring back McKeon.

The Reds went as far as they could under Dusty. His hiring gave the organization credibility and a chance to win. It was time for a change when he was fired. However, it's looking more and more like Price is a really good pitching coach and nothing more.

Yeah, but Bryan Price is even worse. He may well be. Outside of batting Votto second, I'm not wild about what I've seen. Don't insult Baker like that, please. Baker was 1671-1504 as a manager. He won a pennant. He was manager of the year 3 times.

I'd rather see a first place team than a last place team. Finishing under .500 isn't leading to more playoff success than a last place team. At least once you get to the playoffs it's a tossup.

Changing managers doesn't mean finishing under .500. There are managers OTHER than Dusty who can manage a team to first place.

Bochy out managed SEVERAL managers the last few years!! Fact is you gotta get to the playoffs to have a shot and with dusty we won 95 plus games!!

Gotta fire the man that hired Bryan Price before firing Bryan Price. Just because things have gotten worse doesn't mean we should have kept Dusty. It just means we should have hired someone better than Dusty not worse.

The team quit on Baker. Doesn't matter if he won 100 games the four years prior, once a team quits on a manager it can only go one way. Managers have a shelf life, very few make it past five years with a team.

Ha! Our Roster is so much worse now. Dusty had 2 teams that had a shot winning the WS. This team now is a 15 under .500 kinda team.

Who would be in the running if he's fired?? I think we will go with a experienced guy since the guy we got now hopefully taught us something!! Could it be dusty??
