Due to an abundance of injuries across the Reds minor league system they are quickly approaching their roster reserve list limits.
They are allowed no more than 325 players under contract at any one time, by my calculations they are at 317. They have 14 unsigned draft picks which could also soon add to that number.

Assigned to AA Pensacola: C Lou Marson
-Marson signed some time ago, he was with the Reds Extended Spring Team waiting for a roster spot to open, which it did when Chris Berset went down with injury.
Assigned to RK Billings: 3B Taylor Sparks
-This could mean the end of Kevin Franklin's starting days, which would be a blow to the Reds who took him in the 2nd round just 13 months ago.
Retired: SP Tanner Robles and 2B/3B Joe Terry
-Both Terry and Robles technically retired some time ago but they had never made it official and were subsequently listed on their respective minor league teams' restricted list this season.
-Robles was drafted by CIN in the 9th round of 2010, he made 65 starts but never played above high A.
-Terry was drafted by CIN in the 30th round of 2011, he saw action in 149 games and like Robles never played above high A.
***Just two players remain on Reds Minor League Restricted Lists, they are RP Bob Keppel and RP Carlos Marmol.

Signed for 2014: LHP Cerilio Soleana (Bonaire), C Quinton Rolle (Bahamas), SS Nadir Ljatifi (Netherlands), OF Reshard Munroe (Dominican Republic)
The Reds first 4 announced international signings of the 2014-2015 period.
Soleano's signing is a milestone for Bonaire, because it is the first time that a Bonaireans on his native island (a special municipality within the country of the Netherlands) signed with an American professional baseball club. The island is home to less than 18,000 people.

Hard to understand why though. It would be difficult to find a team that is in need of a lefty reliever more than the Reds. The guy just flat out needs to pitch better and stop worrying about which organization he is playing for. At the rate he's going he's not going to see the majors again.
