In that case, bat Freel lead-off, Kepp #2, and CPat #6.

And what is with Hatty playing over Votto? Way to reward Joey for a good night vs a tough Jeff Suppan yesterday.
(Shakes head) I guess with Dusty as the boss, it's a miracle Votto plays at all.

I'm not saying its a good, thing hes in the 2 spot just pointing that stat out. Well, you're probably right. I'm sure that's what Dusty's thinking. I just don't like it one bit.

Getting Kepp into an rbi-producing slot is not a bad idea but with BP's on-base and with Dunn most likely being on first if he is on, the odds of Kepp having guys on to drive in (with singles or doubles) is not as high as it seems. I think you want someone fast ahead of him, to get into scoring position and work the hit-and-run, essentially a real-life leadoff guy, which brings us back to where we were. Kepp is a #2.
I might have tried the radical move of EdE at 1, or even at 9. Putting him at 1, would acknowledge the thin silver lining of his leading in walks. He runs well from 1st-3rd, 2nd-Home, and 1st-Home too. I think this lineup is just trying something different. If Freel's on twice today, I'll be very surprised. I almost would like to see Hopper play in AAA to get him more regular at-bats. With the way ST went and with Patterson starting against all the righties, Hopper hasn't had a lot of chances to get in the groove.
I think Hatteberg will wake up tonight and this should be a high scoring affair.

Doesn't it seem like an odd time to try to steal? You've got your cleanup hitter up and Dunn on deck, why not leave him planted at first? Two outs, going on contact, Freel would score from first on a lot of hits anyway.

Not even watching Freel get thrown out on the bases??? Regrettably, I'm stuck on gamecast tonight, so I'll take your word for it.
