Lark or Star, this is ultraabsorbant from the other board (you may or may not remember me) I tried to register for this board back in early April (it's ultraabsorbant without the 1, I had to add the 1 for this thread because it says ultraabsorbant is already regestered for this site aka me) and have had nothing but problems with it. I've just been lurking on this and espn's board since then, but like everyone else said, the other board has gotten downright ridiculous. I did everything to register and got the email telling me to activate it by clicking the link it gave me. When i clicked the link it asked for my password and everytime I type it in and it goes right back to the same screen asking for my password again. (note it's not saying "invalid username/password", but rather "error: please login to continue the activation process.") I've also tried signing in on the home page in case it somehow got activated and it just goes back to the homepage saying "Welcome guest." Thanks in advance for any help you guys, and I look forward to discussing Reds baseball in the near future as it's hard to find Reds fans in Orlando.

I just deleted your old ultraabsorbant screenname, which didn't have any posts under it. So, you should be able to start fresh in the registration process. So, try to register that screenname again and it should work. Let me know if you have problems, as we need to get you registered and in on the conversations. Thanks!!!

Alright, I got it working. For some reason it worked after I changed the "stay logged in" button from 6 hours to forever.
Thanks for the kind words Jhockey, I'll be posting on here pretty regularly now.

Hey lark, Here's a little simple tip for you on your putting. When you step up to address the ball on your putts, get lined up and ready like your going to pull the trigger and while your over the ball have someonoe(or you can do it) Drop a ball from you eyeline down to the ground. The idea with that is you want your head/eyes directly above your ball while your putting. If you drop the a ball from your head and it hits somewhere other than where your ball/putter is then your not "over the ball well" and that can cause some bad putting. Just a thought................... Yeah, that's a good tip. I've used that a couple of times before. I'm not sure what my problem is, but I'm just too tentative over the ball. I try to guide it into the hole, rather than trusting my stroke and letting the ball find the hole. It's like the old baseball maxim, "throw it, don't aim it." I end up not letting the putter head swing as freely as I should and as a result nothing ever really seems to drop. I burn more lips than is healthy, but don't often find the bottom of the cup. To try to get rid of the tentativeness in the swing, I've tried several different putters and numerous different grips, but have yet to find a silver bullet. There's nothing quite like covering 500 yards in two strokes, but then taking three strokes to cover the last 12 feet.

eye over the ball is a good tip
trying to guide the ball to the hole messes up the stroke......I found the long putter, chest high, which is all mechanics, prevents the wristy, guiding stroke. You won't have any touch for a while and it's not good on 30'+ puts, but it can save your putting game when it starts to go....never tried the belly one

Hey everyone! I am so glad to get back with the real Reds fans. This will be so much better than that other board. It is getting really ridiculous over there. I tried to register back in the spring here, and then later in the season I could not find the link. Someone posted it today so I am here. Thanks guys!

Well, add me to the list of people relocating from the other board. The flame war over there has gotten out of hand and is pointless. I'll still check it from time to time but I need a fresh start. I was SteelrsFn43 over there but figured I'd make a more Reds-appropriate name here.

For some reason, I thought you were already over here, but evidently not. Either way, glad to have you on board. Sadly, the ESPN board is a shadow of its former self, so hopefully this can be your new home away from home. The more the merrier and we can always use some quality new voices on the board.
