How is Volquez look for someone who can not see. I was hoping with no Cavs I would see this one but of course FSN can't show it in the mix of Indians and Reds land. Do you have TWC missbaseball?? If you do..try channel 24. I don't have TWC but my friend does and that is what channel is on. Volquez looks great so far. Keppinger goes yard!

Yeah, I'd be curious to know how often he's mixing in his curveball. What is his out pitch? He's striking people out with the offspeed stuff, he seems to be using his fastball as the setup, they're swinging WAY early and looking completely foolish.

Keppinger is now a starter no question they will never get him ou of the lineup now. The question will be will it be at short or 3rd ? If Edwin struggles I trade him but I would rather move Gonzo when healthy to a team that needs a guy at short.

If Kepp keeps hitting like he's hitting, then he HAS to play. It'll be interesting to see what the Reds do when A-Gon comes back.

Kepp's been awesome so far, but he's still my utility player, backing up 3rd, SS, LF and RF. This is mainly because he's so versatile, and is light years ahead of the only other guy with a lot of versatility (Freel). Encarnacion's been struggling, but his OBP is still great, so he still has good pitch selection, he's not swinging at crap, he'll break out of it soon.

Thoughts so far: Who's looked more impressive? Cueto or Volquez?
It's really close for me, the one hit Volquez gave up was a bloop hit, and I think the Phils lineup is a lot better than the DBacks.

Volquez is rolling!
One of the great things about the possible emergence of Cueto and Volquez is that it could give Homer an entire season out of the spotlight in AAA. He's clearly not ready and needs to refine his command.
It would be best if we just leave him in AAA and forget about him all season. See where he stands in a September call up.

according to gameday Kepp hit a homerun. Who would have ever thought he would lead the Reds in that department at any time of the year.

Lets see if Eddy V can get out of this.
He has hit 98 mph a few times today.

Ok that was just sick! a 96 mph fastball on the inside corner and then a 66 mph changeup that looks like the fastball coming out of his hand. The best changeup I have watched since a guy named Mario Soto !

Volquez looks absolutely amazing! I don't want to jump the gun on expectations, but him and Cueto are going to be special which isn't bold to say at this point.
