I think Ryan Franklin went to the Cardinals via trade, so I will go with the Giants. Also, very sneaky with the rule about cash trades as I think that Chad Moeller for $1 is the only thing keeping the Dodgers from being the answer. We have a winner. The Giants and Reds have not hooked up for a deal since the 1995 deadline blockbuster that netted us Darren Lewis, Mark Portugal, & Dave Burba for Deion Sanders a four scrubs (Dave McCarty, Ricky Pickett, & John Roper, Scott Service) - which was a definite win for Ole Leatherpants. It might also explain why the Giants haven't dealt with us since. In addition to the Moeller sale, we also matched up two other times with the Dodgers - Cody Ross (who was with us for like a week) for Ben Kozlowski in 2006, and the first Juan Castro deal in 2000 (for Kenny Lutz).

Norris Hopper, my daughter's favorite player: he sent her a note and an autographed picture. Nice man...

I always thought John Roper had a chance to be a good pitcher. Not sure what happened to him other than he was developed by the Reds organization.

I did also, have about 250 rookie John Roper cards..want one?, I will throw in a Chad Mottala card for free!

Well, I had a ton of these: So, I could probably part with one for a Roper.

Easy to see why the Giants don't trade with the Reds anymore after we gave them Frank Duffy for George Foster. The absolute best trade the Reds have made in my lifetime next to the Houston trade for Morgan, Geronimo, Armbrister and Menke.
