The 2011 Over/Under season is underway.
This year, Edinson has a K/9 rate of 10.6, while Latos had a K/9 mark of 9.2 in 2010. Edinson has struggled this year and Latos is making his season debut. All that in mind, here is the question:
Over/Under: Mat Latos and Edinson Volquez combine to strikeout 10.5 hitters.
I'll take the under.

Latos will be on a strict pitch count, so he may only last 5 or 6 innings. And would anyone be surprised if Volquez gets pulled early?
I'll play the odds and take the under.

Unless one of them gets a late scratch from the line-up, then the answer is OVER!.

Volquez = 7 Latos = 7
Together = 14
so over.

Gotta take the over. I think Volquez finds his groove against the weak-hitting Pads.

7 for Latos. 5 for Edinson.
Over wins.
