Near as I can tell, we're facing one heck of a 40 man roster crunch. We're currently at 39 excluding Livingston (60 day DL).
The following guys appear locks to make the opening day roster who aren't currently on the 40 man;
- Bako - Patterson - Cueto
Assuming Ross & Gonzales start out on the 15 day DL, we wouldn't lose anyone (subtract 2 from 39 and add 3)
However and knowing Dusty's preference for vets, the following guys are also high potentials to stick for opening day;
- Mercker - one of Philips/Cabrera/Hairston - Lincoln
We could easily lose 3 guys by March 31st and another 2 when Ross and Gonzales are activated. I'm sure we can lose a couple without impacting minor league depth too bad but losing 5? Seems like someone is going to have to "come up with an injury" on April 14th.
What do the rest of you see? If we've got to lose anyone, here are my top 3 to be designated and why;
- Drew Anderson (nice player but a luxury given outfield depth) - Ramon Ramirez (showed nothing in spring training even though played winter ball) - Gary Majewski (time to cut bait)

It needs about 4 cuts?
-Cappelan -Livingston is on the DL -Stanton should be cut -Castro should be cut -Freel seems likely to be traded -One of Dickerson or Andrerson could probably be waived too in an attempt to get off the 40 man, and if they get claimed, no big loss.
So there are lots of options, i'm sure they'll figure out what to do.
