I am a big Homer Bailey fan still. It's going to take quite a bit for me to give up on him....
But my money's on Cueto to be the best, now.

Good poll!! It's fun to see the Reds develop so much freakin' talent.
Pencil me in for Jay Bruce. He's the real deal. His bat speed is amazing.

Yeah, he showed some stuff, I'm optimistic for him as well. I just love to see the young pitching that we've got ready to make an impact. We're great at bringing up OFers, but not so much at pitchers.

I know Jay Bruce is the #1 prospect in baseball, but Cueto looks like a future #1 starter, and that is something this team has needed to develope for at least 20 years.

You act like this team has developed a true 5 tool player in the last 20 years.
The last one of those I remember the Reds bringing up is Davis.
And for all the talk of the Reds developing hitters, or mainly OFs other then Dunn how many better then average or even average have they come up with on their own. Meaning only players that were signed by the Reds.
Thats been the problem with the Reds its not just that they haven't developed pitching its that they haven't developed anything.
I remember when Trevor Hoffman wasn't good enough to protect in the Marlins/Rockies expansion draft because the Reds already had a bullpen full of closers

I went with Bruce but Cueto would be 1b in my book. Votto is another great prospect and I can't wait to see our young guys playing together. I'm very excited for our future.

I went with Cueto just because if he goes for 16-20 wins a year for 4-5yrs in a row or more with low era's then nothing and I mean nothing Bruce can do can beat that. We dont develop pitching and to have one of our pitchers come threw like that we are going to be so mesmorized by it that no offensive player could ever compare.
Cueto has the ability to do that above also.

He has never been a big base stealing threat, and it is one of the reasons why most scouts call him a corner outfielder long term. That's why I prefer to stick him in RF and leave him there for 15 years or so.

I gave Votto some love on the poll, though honestly he'd rank 2nd behind Bruce for me.
I love the patient approach at the plate, and Votto exemplifies that. I love the fact that he's dealt with adversity (2005 in Sarasota, April '07 in Louisville) and always seems to learn from it, and come back better. He'll hit .280-.290, and I think he'll give you and OBP around .380. The only question for me is if he has enough power to really stand out at 1B. 20HR just doesn't cut it when you're limited defensively.

put me down for Votto as well. I think he will hit very well after April and will then get most of the starting at bats.
Cueto is the obvious choice but I'm worried about the load his arm may take this year after a high load last year. As far as Bruce goes, I just don't see him getting many at-bats this year.
