From Lance McClassiter's blog:
The DP's are a little high, but man, only 16 K's in what amounts to almost 2/3 of a seasons worth of at bats. The guy is just a natural hitter.

Wow nice find Duke, Yes he is a pure hitter, and it is always sweet to watch him play. I am just glad there is finally someone on this team that i really enjoy to watch play. I actually look forward to watching all the games now. We need more hitters like him on this team. I would forgo the power numbers to have high batting avg and good gap hitters.

I think it comes down to the mentality in a lot of ways. If you go to the plate thinking, even in the back of your mind, that one of these pitches has to end up a souvenir, it hurts your at-bat. Keppinger doesn't think like that. He heads to the plate intending to do two things: first and foremost, not strike out, and secondly, put the ball in play. If everyone think like that, we'd score a whole lot more runs.

exactly and i wish we had more players like that. Its still way to early but it would be nice to think maybe The harriston of old is on his way back.
I would not mind at all if Phillips becomes our team leader in HR's with 33 for the year i would be very happy, hell we know Votto should be able to get us 20+, Griffey should be able to hit us 25+ Edwin well i dont want to talk much about him lol, but his hit streak is just a string of luck it will end and he will go south again. But back to the topic with 3 players like that, I personally think that is plenty of Power numbers for us now lets get the .290+ hitters surrounding them with or without speed and our lineup would be really nice.

Maybe. Edwin's defense has looked a LOT better lately (just watched him knock down a sharp liner and make a bullet throw to first to end an inning and save a few runs) and of course his hitting has been impressive as well. I don't think we give up on this kid just yet. Too much potential.
