They won't go in a deal together, or at least I highly doubt it. Griffey should be gone in 2009 regardless, Dunn I can go either way on, but I lean towards a 4 year extension.

I am definitely okay keeping Dunn but there is no way we pick up that option with Junior. Just too much money for us. That'll open the door for Bruce to play right field.

Actually, I could see the Reds letting Dunn walk and retaining Griffey for 2009 to play leftfield.
The team option on Griffey for 2009 is for $16.5M, which is pretty steep, but the buyout on that option is for $4M. So, basically, the Reds are looking at $12.5M decision on Jr in 2009. They may find that to be preferable to locking up Dunn to a 4-5 year deal.
It'll be interesting to see how it all plays out after the season.

i wanted to trade dunn so bad a yr ago, but now that the end is near for JR in the nati' I think we should keep that fat turd..
