I came over here to get the serious discussion of this and so far no one has started the thread (as far as I can tell).

Point 1: Our farm system is stocked like it never has been before. Krivsky was a huge factor in that. Jocketty wasn't.

Some of it was making the right trades to get young impact guys (Thompson) and some of it was holding onto the young guys instead of trading them for that one make or break guy (Bedard and Lieber v Cueto, Bruce, Homer, and Votto)

At least I haven't read where Wayne K decided they were bad deals.

Do we really know how his signees are going to do yet? He did get BP, Arroyo, Burton, and Volquez (he had to give up Hamilton, but he found him, too). Somebody signed Cordero (I know Krivsky couldn't do it without approval from Castellini though and it was a no-brainer if Castellini would pony up the money). We may never know who signed Dusty Baker (and we don't know yet whether it was a good or bad move). Overall, I think Jocketty is a better choice, but I wouldn't have made the move right now. It gives the impression that Kriv's done something really onerous in the last month or so.

[/quote] Ya he did he signed Patterson to a contract We have plenty of people to fill that void, in freel, hopper and Bruce, but whoever did sign Harriston to a deal, that may be another Phillips in the making which would be sweet.
