That was entirely satisfying last night--the best all around game I've seen us play in what seems like forever (though I guess it's only been since the first Brewers series; that 1-0 loss to the Pirates sent me for a loop, still haven't completely recovered).
I hope we don't change last night's lineup...

I hope we don't change last night's lineup... They'd be nuts not to. You could argue the most dangerous combination of guys in that lineup were batting 6,7,8. A leadoff hitter to hold things together is what is missing. The first few sereis, CPatt was hot, the Reds were rolling. After that leadoff became a black hole and the offense died. If hairston is healthy and can have a career year things could turn around ina big hurry. 2004 He hit .303 with a .378 OBP for Baltimore. If he can have that kind of year, watch out. He says he is his healthiest he has been in years.

I agree with all this--still excited about last night's game. Patterson was a different player last year for the Os, but let him prove that he can still make that kind of contribution as a bench player.
There was much more energy last night; Hairston was a huge difference; if he can sustain it, Reds should buy him a house, make him mayor, etc...
