200 innings is not looking good for Arroyo this season. Yet to make it through 6 innings this season and another horrible start. I think Arroyo is relying on his curve ball to much and not using his fastball to get ahead. He should use his curve more as a strike out pitch instead of a get ahead in the count pitch. His pitch count has been a real problem in the games he's pitched in so far this season. The biggest reason is he has abandoned his fastball, a pitch you have to throw for k's in order to set up your strike out pitch. He's using his strike out pitch to set up his strike out pitch, which isn't very affective after a batter has seen once or twice early on in the count.
This is how I describe Arroyo, "he's being to cute on the mound". If I were a ML pitcher I would not like to be described as being cute. Arroyo really needs to think about what he's doing out their rather then just showing up. Or we're going to have to make a move.
