Well after seeing what Matt Belisle did today is it time to say that Matt Belisle needs to be traded? He can’t put it all together in the case of Matt Belisle i think the best thing to say is that he falls in loves with his fastball a little too much. If you look threw his start today, you can see in the 1 inning that all his hits where given up via the fastball. In the case of his slider and curveball he got everyone out with it, WHEN he used it. Now certinly the LA Dodgers, are a good hitting team, but for a team that only scored 3 runs all weekend against the braves they come into reds country and just exploded for 9 runs. (so far, the game is still going on as I speak) It’s just un-real how this happened to Matt seeing as he already had 3 starts in the minors, which excludes from any excuses about not being sharp as he was really sharp down in the minors.
So bring up the question, is it time to let Matt go? Matt Belisle reminds me alot of a Kyle Loshe type. (expect Loshe had a much better career ERA) There no need to feel bad for Matt Belisle because he will always have a job, some ball club will give him another shot. The fact of the matter is that matt has all the stuff, he just can’t seem to put it all together to help solidify the back end of the rotation. Now give belisle some credit, as he just came off the DL, but it’s just crazy how in the 5 years he’s been with the reds he has never put it all together. Maybe it’s time for him to go back to the bullpen I don’t know, but something needs to be done, and done soon.
I wrote this on my blog and thought I would share it. I'm not the greatest of writers but I try.
