If Patterson is leading off tonight, I am going to break something.

If Patterson is leading off tonight, I am going to break something. With a righty in Penny pitching against us, I think you can count on Patterson.... Although, you've made the jump from Big Klu to the Big Dawg.

Although, you've made the jump from Big Klu to the Big Dawg. Who ranks these players? I think the Big Klu was better than the Big Dawg (but then, I'm old enough to have rooted for Klu).

Lark came up with the Player designations. Both were before my time so it doesn't matter to much.

CF Hopp deserves a shot SS Kepp ability to get on 2B BP speed and power RF Jr. RBI man LF Dunn HR threat 1B Votto avg hitter can hit LHP 3B EE clutch bat C Bako doing good so far
I like having speed at the top with Hopp and BP followed by the big bats, Jr. and Dunn. Votto can hit LHP so I'm not concerned with having the LHB bunched together. EE has the ability to come up with a clutch hit when you need it. So with Dunn's OBP and Votto being a good hitter with some speed, EE will have his chances to drive in runs in the 7th hole.

If you wish to discuse tonights line-up then might as well put the Batting avarage of all the players out there against Penny. So,
Ken Griffey Jr. 27 10 2 1 3 5 3 5 .370 .433 .852 1.285 Adam Dunn 22 2 0 0 1 2 3 13 .091 .200 .227 .427 Ryan Freel 14 6 2 1 0 0 3 0 .429 .529 .714 1.244 David Ross 9 1 1 0 0 0 0 3 .111 .111 .222 .333 Scott Hatteberg 8 1 0 0 1 1 1 2 .125 .222 .500 .722 Alex Gonzalez 7 3 3 0 0 1 1 0 .429 .500 .857 1.357 Juan Castro 6 3 2 0 0 0 0 1 .500 .500 .833 1.333 Corey Patterson 6 1 0 0 0 0 0 1 .167 .167 .167 .333 Brandon Phillips 6 2 1 0 0 0 1 1 .333 .429 .500 .929 Edwin Encarnacion 6 0 0 0 0 0 0 1 .000 .000 .000 .000 Paul Bako 5 0 0 0 0 1 1 1 .000 .167 .000 .167 Javier Valentin 3 0 0 0 0 0 0 1 .000 .000 .000 .000 Bronson Arroyo 2 0 0 0 0 0 0 2 .000 .000 .000 .000 Josh Fogg 2 0 0 0 0 0 0 1 .000 .000 .000 .000 Aaron Harang 2 0 0 0 0 0 0 1 .000 .000 .000 .000 Jeff Keppinger 2 0 0 0 0 0 0 0 .000 .000 .000 .000 Norris Hopper 1 0 0 0 0 0 0 1 .000 .000 .000 .000 Totals 128 29 11 2 5 10 13 34 .227 .298 .461 .759 (espn.com)
Now for Lead off hitter
C-pat hitting .167 this year .186
Hopper .000 (1 ab) this year .240
Freel .429 this year .267
I say Freel tonight and a mix of Freel and Hopper (NO C-Pat in lead off) for the rest of the year. But, what I think does not matter to the Reds.
Hope BP comes out of his slump of 2-23 (last 6 days)
other slumps C-Pat 0-21
Dunn 1-13
Hopper 1-7(but look at how huch he plays)
Hatty 0-6(how much does he play too)
Votto 2-14
Jr 1-13(game winning hit ended 12 straight outs)
For the hot hitters over last 10 days for the happy stuff. EE .368 Freel .348 Bako .324 Votto .323 (yes in both good over last 10 but not last 3)
Yes, had some time on my hands. enjoy or not.

Hopper Dunn Kepp Griff Phillips Votto EE Bako I like that lineup a lot. Kepp in the 3 hole might confuse some people, but he has far and away been the Reds best hitter this year. And it would be nice to actually use some of Dunn's historically insane amount of walks.

Votto hasn't been around long enough to get that respect. Put Kepp and then Griff behind him and see what happens then. I bet Dunn sees some better pitches to hit. Nobody wants 2 on with Griffey up.
