It doesn't sound good. We may be back to having only two quality relievers in the bullpen.
David Weathers left Saturday's game in the 10th inning with an apparent elbow injury. It didn't look good. Weathers clearly felt something in his elbow go while delivering a pitch that ended up well wide of home plate, and he signaled for the trainer immediately. Expect him to spend some time on the DL. Jared Burton will take over as the primary setup man, and Bill Bray could be recalled to help out.

He has now been put on the dl. They are playing one down and krisky said there will be another move to make room for Matt Belisle

They are playing one down and krisky said there will be another move to make room for Matt Belisle It doesn't sound real good and given the tendency of Reds injuries to turn out to be much more severe than originally thought, I won't rest easy on this one. Reds placed RHP David Weathers on the 15-day DL with ulnar nerve irritation in his right elbow. It'd be good news if that's all it is. The Reds will wait until Monday to fill the roster spot by activating Matt Belisle. Jared Burton will take over setup duties.

It sucks we lose Weathers
Lets hope when he comes back he can pitch like he did last year/however Burton if he continues to pitch well needs to stay as the 8th inning man even when Stormy comes back.

Weathers has always allowed a lot of baserunners, but this year he isn't getting them out, he's letting them score. Burton has been lights out, and I don't think there's much of a question who the setup man should be here on out.

Would I be crazy if I said I liked Lincoln better than Weathers this year. Weathers is on the DL just for the 2nd time in his illustrious career. And Weathers had a good season last year with 30+ SV so his track record speaks for itself. But I've been more impressed with what Lincoln has shown me so far this season. Lincoln 8.2IP 3.12 ERA 7k's and 0HR allowed. Granted it's early but Lincoln has the ability to challenge hitters with a good fastball at 94mph and a nice curve. If he could develop a 3rd pitch like a change of splitter and stay healthy, he could help this pen in the long run. I would like to see Burton replace Weathers in the setup role and have Lincoln be the 7th inning guy with Affeldt. Coffey and Fogg should go and Bray should be up to round out the pen. With out Fogg we have no LRP but maybe Affeldt could be that spot starter LRP with Bray on the club.

Lincoln has definitely been impressive, but he probably lacks Weathers' durability in the long run.
