Hopefully the front office realize how good of friends those two are and keep them around for a long time. ;D

If I'm not mistaken, both are on the same track in terms of arbitration eligibility. If we're smart, we'll sign both of them long-term around this time next year or the following year if they're still producing.

Good read, and I think we need to keep our domincan core together for the next few years. In a couple years we'll add Juan Francisco to that group, and a few after that we should be adding Juan Duran. If the Reds can have a solid 4-6 guy group of Dominicans on the team, it will help that much more when trying to sign prospects from the DR and keep that pipeline flowing.
I'd like to see Cueto and Volquez in this rotation the next ten years.

If I could, I'd sign both of them mid-way through next year for 10 years 50-75 mill if they'd take it (probably a pipe dream) It'd be a great deal for both sides. Long term secure deal for them, long term livable salary for us. Such things never happen, though, and I know jack sh(t about what kinds of players take in what kind of money...lol

Longoria for the Rays essentially just signed a 9 year $44 million deal (including this year).
Get it done with Cueto NOW.

That's an unbelievable deal for both sides. That's pretty much exactly what I mean. 6 year guaranteed deal, 7th year team option, 8th and 9th year bundled team option. Only $17.5 mil of it is guaranteed. DO THE EXACT SAME THING RIGHT NOW WITH CUETO REDS!!!

Seems to me that if he continues to produce he is a much more legitimate number two starter than Bronson Arroyo, who is really a 3 spot pitcher anyway....

I'd say that so far, Arroy has been our 4, with Cueto as the 2 and Volquez as the 3.
