Its clear that Votto is the present and the future so we need to trade hatty. It makes no sense at all to have a lefty/lefty platoon and we need a righty off the bench with some pop anyway. So trade hatty and hope you get the same type of value you got last year with the conine deal (Henry ,lopez) or maybe even a little better deal.

Votto needs to be out there every day. Once he gets his feel down then I think we'll see some power to go with his average.

The more he plays the better he gets because of the comfort level, you just have to let him play full time. None of this Lefty righty platoon. That does nothing for your confidence, let him get the at bats and experience and he will get better.

I agree no platoon. Votto should start 150 games this year, minimum.

Yep. I like Scott a lot, and it's been great, but.....time to part ways with no hard feelings.

Hatty can contribute as a pinch hitter. If this team contends, and it's too early to say they will not, he could come in handy.
Votto is the starter, period. No platoon.

Hatte pinch hits for now, and try to swing him for a decent arm prospect.

I like having Hatteberg on the bench, but I doubt he will be content with that for long. He can still play first base for someone, or play for a team that does want to utilize him in a platoon.

Hatte pinch hits for now, and try to swing him for a decent arm prospect. I doubt that Hatty brings a "decent arm prospect". Probably a low level arm and a position player with upside.

Anyone else slightly concerned that Votto hasn't walked yet? He's got 43 ABs and 0 walks, so I wonder if he's using Dusty "get aggressive" approach.

I did not even notice that, but I guess that is a concern because a .318 obp is not good enough. However, he is swinging it well so I just hope that continues, the walks should come.

Conine was a very solid player and did his job here.
