I'd definitely have Adam Everett, Morgan Ensberg, Dougie Mientkiewicz, and Aaron Boone on the list. For pitchers, I really like Jamie Moyer and Gil Meche. I love watching Everett on defense. He's tremendous. I love Morgan Ensberg's overall game. I love Dougie Mientkiewicz's defense and gritty approach to the game. As for Boone, I've always loved his overall game. He's one of my favorite players and I'm still not pleased that he's with an organization. I think Moyer is just brilliant on the mound. He's the ultimate pitcher, surviving on guile and smarts instead of on pure stuff. As for Meche, I've been waiting for him to pitch like he did in 2007 since I first saw him pitch. He's got great stuff and a good understanding of how to pitch.

You never can tell these days, but I don't think he was. He's a streaky hitter and suffered a torn shoulder ligament/tendon which has impacted his swing. He's got a mechanical swing, so he's not the most fluid, natural hitter, which can also lead to problems. Maybe it was the juice, but I doubt it.

No Brainer .... Josh Hamilton haha but i do really like brian mccann. Grady Sizemore is a guy who plays with a lot of heart whom i enjoy. I still have a soft spot for Kearns and I used to love mark bellhorn Pitching wise i hope Joel Zumaya is able to make a full recovery, he is a lot of fun to watch. Thats my list. I agree though great topic

Great thread idea...Curtis Granderson is definitely a favorite along with Josh Hamilton. I love the way Granderson plays, and what a great overall player he has become.

lol
I can't believe I forgot Hamilton, but I guess part of me still considers him a Red. Also, I like the Granderson pick, he's a great all around player and seems like a good guy to boot. And, of course, I love Mark Bellhorn. The BoSox fans got something right when they used to call him GodHorn. Bellhorn and Billy Mueller were the unsung heroes of the first BoSox WS Champs a few years ago.

I'd have to say [glow=yellow,4,300]Jose Reyes[/glow], i'd kill to have him playing short for the Reds.

I tend to like the scrappy types that do the little things, teams need those types of players in the lineup for when the power bats are going cold. However they have to be able to carry their weight to with the bat and have some extra base power. Guys like
Pedoria-high OBP, tons of doubles fairly underrated.
Sanchez-the 2006 version which was similar to Pedoria though his OBP was more average driven.
I also like what I've seen from Alberto Callaspo. I don't know if he's a starter but he'll hit for average and looks to be a excellent bunter.
I've also always liked Peavy, he doesn't go deep into games but generally he's money for a quality start.

I would have to say i love watching Suzuki play, a fantastic hitter, I would give up a ton to have him in a reds uniform also. I also enjoy watching Webb pitch, his motion is so easy and smooth, and his control is awesome!

Well, the numbers behind my name are an homage to Jim Abbott, so any discussion of my favorite players has to start there. I remember watching him on a Saturday afternoon game when I was 8 or 9, and being mesmerized at the way he switched the glove onto his hand when he pitched, then flipped it back after he got the ball. He's been my favorite player ever since.
As for active players, I love watching hard-throwing pitchers with a ridiculous out-pitch. Jake Peavy leads off that discussion for me, Santana and Hamels with the change, Bedard's curve, and for some reason, I've watched Jeremy Bonderman about 5 times on TV, and he's been absolute nails in all 5 games. Based on what I've seen, I have no idea how he's not one of the best pitchers in baseball.
I live near Washington, so I'm a Nats' fan in addition to a Reds' fan. I saw John Patterson back when he was healthy, and he's always been one of my favorites. Sad to see him go. Ryan Zimmerman is an absolutely phenomenal player. His numbers will look much better outside of RFK. Also, to make Lark happy, he's the best defensive 3B in baseball, and I am absolutely confident in saying that. His fielding pct. sucks because he makes hurried and off-balance throws trying to make plays where any other 3B eats the ball. He's an absolute joy to watch.
