You know, I'm wondering if the Reds are going to make a minor move today. Hopper doesn't look healthy to me or maybe he just spontaneously lost his ability to move (but I don't think so). I wouldn't mind seeing a guy like Jolbert Cabrera up here getting some at-bats. I thought he really looked solid in spring training and he seems to be doing well in Louisville.
I also read where the Yanks backup catcher pulled a hammy last night. I'm not sure how much longer Posada is out, but I'd love to unload Ross' contract (I'm sure it won't happen, but a guy can dream). Heck I guess Girardi could make himself a player/manager and get behind the dish for a few days if they needed him to do so.
What do you guys think?

I don't see any moves on the horizon yet, albeit Jolbert Cabrera being called up and Juan Castro being released is a movie that should be made as soon as possible.

Yeah..tell me about it. With an offense that struggles as badly as ours does right now, you don't need a defensive specialist on the team. I'm not sure he's even THAT at his age.
Hopper looks like he could go to the DL as well. I'm not sure what to do about our lefthandedness. The righthanded lineup that Dusty feels compelled to try is just not very good. Krivsky should have addressed this in the offseason, but we hung on to some lefthanded whiffing instead. I really can't imagine our performance against lefties to change until the personnel does. Right now though, our lefties aren't performing well enough to interest anyone in a trade. So, we're either going to have to run out the lefties against the lefties to hope they get better against them or make a trade. Starting Castro, Hopper, and Freel isn't the answer either.

You won't see jack happen today.
The next move will be something involving David Ross when he's ready to come back. It'll be interesting to see what Kriv decides to do - Bako has done very well for us. I suppose we could go back to the day of three catchers.

If the Reds are committed to winning then they need to get rid of Castro ASAP.
