While I'm sure Hamilton will surpass Patterson by years end, I hadn't checked up on Josh in awhile and found these stats quite interesting. With Patterson's production and Volquez's pitching thus far things have worked out quite well. Still miss him though

Wow....Patterson has 1 more RBI while batting leadoff.....that's impressive.

Wow....Patterson has 1 more RBI while batting leadoff.....that's impressive. The extra 3 HR's will help that. Hamilton hasn't hit one since opening day.

It was definitely a worthwhile deal, without Volquez, are rotation is a lot less impressive.

Bruce, Stubbs, Dorn, and one of (Frazier, Francisco, Waring, Valaika, Griffen, Heisey).
We have more than enough guys in the pipeline that can play OF, not to mention that we have CPatt now, Hopper, Freel, and Keppinger can play a corner OF spot if needed even. We got a starting pitcher that could be very effective in the 3 spot for the next 3-4 years.

i still think of what an outfield of dunn hamilton and bruce would have brought to the table though keeping in mind Bailey will hopefully get it together and be at least that number 3 one day with Daryl Thompson and Matt Maloney waiting in the wings

He's also outperforming Matt Holliday, Prince Fielder, Ryan Howard, and Alex Rodriguez.

Still has a lot of potential, but e is getting to the age where he needs to start realizing that potential.
