Paid attendance for last nights game in Sarasota....696.
No fan support, no new facilities, no accomidation. These people really think they are going to attract another team back there? Meanwhile, Low A Dayton is attracting 8,000 a night.

Man, they are dumb. We kept telling them do something or we will leave, do something or we will leave, do somethign or we will leave, and they kept responding like the Reds were a 4 year old just trying to get their way and were not to be taken seriously. I especially like these quotes:
"There has been a feeling in the community that the Reds would not leave, that they were simply threatening the city of Sarasota and they weren't going anywhere," she said. "Well, now reality has set in. They are going."
When Palmer went before the county commission Tuesday afternoon wearing an aqua-blue shirt, County Commissioner Paul Mercier jokingly asked if she was intentionally wearing the Florida Marlins' colors.
"I will change my shirt to whatever team we can attract," Palmer quickly replied, as she asked commissioners to simply nod their heads if they agreed to continue their support of the stadium's renovation.
As disappointing as the news is that the Reds are leaving for Arizona, Sarasota's Facilities Manager Pat Calhoun said he has to believe it is happening for a reason and there must be something better for Sarasota around the corner.
Maybe if you wish hard enough a MLB team will just magically appear and agree to all that you want. Or maybe they can use their ruby slippers. They are already 3rd or 4th in the pecking order to possbily get a team relocated there, and there are only 2 teams who's leases are up in the next 4 years. The bathrooms at Ed Smith don't even work half the time for crying ot loud. The town council of Sarasota is simply delusional.
