For those who watched him on Tv ......what did you think of his stuff ?
I for one watched him a few times in Dayton but his stuff is 10 X better now. He has every pitch you need and his change up is the best I have watched since Mario Soto from the right side, Ist almost as good as Santana's IMO.
Even more impressive is he seems to be able to handle a rough inning. He bounced back from a bad luck 1st battlign through that and then shut down a great hitting tigers team

The most impressive thing he may have done this spring is coming back and dominating after that rough 1st inning yesterday. A lot of veterans have trouble doing that against a loaded lineup like that, let alone a 22 year old rookie. He had the bases juiced with 1 out after he had just walked in a run on 4 pitches and got out of the innign with only giving up one more run. He then came back and dominated the next three innings. Very impressive.

Like Baker has said a few times this ST, he does not like to give up ANYTHING. I love that mentality. Thats why he refused to give in because he was confident in his ability. Just think of how many pitchers, not just young pitchers, would have given in and just thrown a fastball down the middle to get one over. Thats how you give up bases clearing doubles which kill you as a pitcher. He buckled down and got out of the inning and did great the next three.
This is what Bailey needs to learn in AAA. He hasn't faced much adversity and succeeded. He needs that confident in his stuff to go after hitters, even when he is in a hole.
