I suspect Lodolo's not exactly 100% either. this is the time when you'd like to have a few AAAA guys to play out the string.

Yeah, pitcher injuries are a pandemic in the modern game. To whatever extent possible, shifting team building to focus on building a foundation around position players makes sense. Obviously, you can't win without both hitting and pitching, managing risk properly means minimizing long-term commitments to pitchers and, possibly, acquiring hitters over pitchers when the opportunity presents itself (cough "the draft" cough).
It's also more than a bit troubling that Nick Lodolo can't get healthy and continues to get a variety of different injuries. It's great that he hasn't had a traumatic arm injury yet, but he just can't stay on the mound.
