well said Lark, these idiots are preying for me. Make them stop. (not a typo) LIVE AND LET LIVE , you fools. FAITH....just think about that word. FACT.... this word means something different do not confuse them Go reds! So, I had occasion a year or so ago to look up the definition of "faith" in Merriam-Webster's Dictionary. The definition is.....interesting: I think it's worthwhile pondering that definition a bit. Maybe more than a bit. Of course, that's a modern dictionary participating in political correctness, or doublespeak if you're familiar with George Orwells 1984. What does the 1828 Webster's Dictionary say? 4. Evangelical, justifying, or saving faith is the assent of the mind to the truth of divine revelation, on the authority of God's testimony, accompanied with a cordial assent of the will or approbation of the heart; an entire confidence or trust in God's character and declarations, and in the character and doctrines of Christ, with an unreserved surrender of the will to his guidance, and dependence on his merits for salvation. In other words, that firm belief of God's testimony, and of the truth of the gospel, which influences the will, and leads to an entire reliance on Christ for salvation.

This is about the Reds. They played on a field covered with sodomite pride. If they hadn't done it, I wouldn't be talking about it. If you have an aversion to politics or religion, take it up with MLB b/c they include both. However, if you don't like it, you don't have to participate. Feel free to sit this one out. But no, that's not what you want, is it? You probably don't mind pride flags flown in our faces during ballgames. You just don't want anyone to be allowed to say anything against it, especially if it's b/c God calls it an abomination! Except, this isn't a religious issue and it's certainly not a political issue. This is a business decision by a corporation to recognize, celebrate, and court a group of potential customers. Political issues require government involvement. This isn't that. And, while you may want to make it a religious issue, it's not that either. While some may talk about baseball fields as cathedrals and baseball as church, they aren't being literal. Baseball is a secular institution. The First Amendment to the United States Constitution has two religious clauses: the "free exercise" clause and the "establishment clause": So, as much as you may want to impose Christianity on the entire country, the Constitution protects people's right to practice other religions or not practice any religion at all. Further, it precludes the government from establishing any religion as the official religion. That's why there is a separation between church and state. It's called freedom. But, again, the Constitution protects citizens from government action, not the actions of private corporations. So, this is still not a religious or political issue. You are empowered to worship as you see fit in your individual life, you are not empowered to impose those religious views on everyone else. Why isn't it enough for someone to live their faith in their personal life? Why do most religions feel the need to recruit everyone else to join them? Comfort in group-think? Safety in numbers? Obviously you believe that Pride celebrations have no place at a baseball game, well that's up to the private corporation to decide. If you don't like it, then feel free to stop supporting the Reds and/or MLB. But, notably, most would say that religion has no place at a baseball game. Do Jewish people want Christianity at the ballpark? Do Muslims? Do Hindus? Do Buddhists? Do atheists? I'm not sure why it's your place to declare that religion belongs, but pride does not. It's a big wide world out there and the vast majority of it simply does not believe what you believe. The Constitution protects our God-given rights, endowed by our Creator. Historically we are a Christian Nation. If you want to properly understand America and our Constitution, you must acknowledge the Bible is the rock on which this Republic rests. The homosexual agenda is very political. So is BLM. Though the Reds and MLBs actions may not be directly political, their vocal support of these issues inserts themselves in these politicized arenas, as well as opposition to it. I don't want American exceptionalism to go away, along with our freedom and prosperity. Our nation has been blessed by God and has been the envy of the world. Righteousness exalts a nation, but sin is a disgrace to any people. You are unwittingly helping usher in the enslavement of Americans to the New World Order pushing this agenda. You're not a believer though, so your bound to do so. Your only hope is to repent of the sin you know is wrong and put your faith in Jesus. Until then, we'll just go around in circles. Which is fine b/c I do not have these conversations waiting for people to repent and be saved. That's beyond my control. I do this to glorify Christ and stand in opposition to this wicked and perverse generation that has lost its way.

I thought the reds would kill the board, wrong. Latent homosexual zealot taliban guy should do it though. Please ban this taliban boy of little enlightenment. I should be able to sin my way through life without this 'voice of god' squeaking at me

I should be able to sin my way through life without this 'voice of god' squeaking at me Reds are doing well and there's some activity on this board, yet Joe Buck doesn't seem to want the discussions to continue. So in the same spirit of Joe Buck, I request that he be banned for holding views that are different than my own. His vocal defense of men commiting sodomy with each other requires that his opinion should no longer be tolerated and that his dangerous ideas be forced underground. Since I'm sure my position is correct, it's not a good idea to let other offensive views that contradict mine be considered.

I knew that was a lie when my Democrat Daddy told me that years ago.

He just saved a family that was willing to commit incest to repopulate the world. Maybe Jeremiah fits that bill.

jerimiah will simply ascend and avoid the gay sex and water I am pretty sure that last flood wiped out all of the heteros too. He just saved a family that was willing to commit incest to repopulate the world. Maybe Jeremiah fits that bill. Nope. Noah's son's already had wives before the flood. The rainbow 🌈 is a beautiful thing. God created it as a sign of the covenant between Him and Noah that He would never destroy the world again through a flood. Why Did He destroy the world through a flood? The world was full of violence and the thoughts of people was only evil continually. The Bible teaches the next time God destroys the world it'll be by fire. Then He'll create a new heaven and earth. God is the judge, not me. If anyone struggles with same sex attraction, or any unwanted sexual behavior, [moderator edit: nope] is a wonderful ministry full of grace and hope. As for pride flags being on the field, I'm not in favor, but at least it's created this opportunity to discuss it. Who doesn't enjoy a lovely debate on the internet?

Stop the steal, let's go brandon, lock her up... I know it's out of context, but it was my favorite part of your post.

I do this to glorify Christ and stand in opposition to this wicked and perverse generation that has lost its way. If being tolerant and accepting of my fellow man and woman is a sin, then I'm just fine with being a sinner. The bottom line remains that hate wrapped up in religious rhetoric is still hate. At some point in time, people will stop using religion as a cudgel to beat down minority groups. Apparently, today isn't that day. Ultimately, this is not the proper forum for proselytizing religious beliefs. Ultimately, this is not the proper forum for advancing hate speech. Anyone who wants to proselytize should do so on another forum. As I wrote below in another thread, moderating in this day and age requires a heavier hand: As a result, I'm locking this thread. In the future, this type of post will be deleted with the poster potentially banned. This is a baseball forum with a separate section for political/off-topic discussion. The reality is, however, that discussion in any section has to meet a certain threshold of validity/acceptability for this board to have any value. Any discussion expressing opinions that are objectively false, intentionally hateful, calculated to upset and/or inflame, or, frankly, that are rejected by the other board members as lacking so much merit that there is simply no value to engaging with them won't be conducted on here. So, back to good faith baseball discussion.
