Now, hopefully, the Reds organization recognizes that Elly is different than the other prospects that are and will arrive.

I got home from sand volleyball just in time to watch his last at-bat. Struck out on a tough pitch. I decided to gut it out and watch the rest of the game covered in sand at my bar. It was the best inning I have seen in years. |

Explosive, powerful. Must see TV. |

And just when you think the debut can't be topped, he hits a ball 460 feet and beats his own record set the night before for hardest hit ball by a Red this year at almost 115 mph. Then he sets this years major league baseball seasonal record for fastest triple.
Hits from both sides of the plate.
Hits for power from both sides.
Is as fast as anyone in baseball.
Throws the ball 100 mph.
Humble and down to earth kid they say.
This should be an exciting Reds team for the next 5 years until we have to start paying this young core of talent.

Dude has quite the arm. That will keep Steer at first. Eh, I have doubt that Arroyo is the shortstop of the future. It should be Elly's until he proves otherwise. Arroyo is in the next wave and still has development work to do; by the time he arrives the infield may already be occupied by some combination of Elly, McLain, India, Steer, and/or CES. |
