This highly acclaimed PBS docu-series that came out in 1994 and is annually played on sports networks, is supposed to be about the history of baseball, but is just a pretext to harp on racism the majority of the time.
In Ken Burns obsession over racism, he finds a way to connect, highlight and emphasize racism to every facet of the game from its very inception until now. What a downer.
While one should rightly acknowledge racism has manifested at times in baseball and exalt the many triumphs against it through players like Jackie Robinson, Roberto Clemente and many others - what Ken Burns has done is completely different.
Ken Burns has prevented anyone from enjoying the beautiful history of baseball unless they submit to the heavy handed onslaught of white guilt and shame he wants you to feel.
Maybe then you'll come to your senses and when professing "trained marxists" like BLM leadership infiltrate MLB, you'll be sure to shrink back and let them do it. Or better yet, help them succeed.
As for me, I've never been much of a communist sympathizer, no matter what form of class warfare they try to exploit.
It's clearly time for the Reds to change their name back to the Redlegs.

I was going to resell this baseball documentary on eBay, but realized I didn't want to infect anyone else with that tainted baseball trash, so that's where I put it.
Could've been such a beautiful recollection of baseball history, but the woke agenda strikes again, embittering everything it touches with it's misguided sense of justice.

Recently watched two fantastic vintage baseball movies on YouTube.
1) The Winning Team, staring Ronald Reagan and Doris Day about HoF pitcher Grover Cleveland Alexander
2) The Pride of St. Louis, about HoF pitcher Dizzy Dean.

Are you serious....I felt no shame. I did sympathize with the plight many have had to endure in this documentary. This country is an amazing story and baseball is a big part of that story. All the good, great, bad and despicable is part the story. If we don't look at our history with eyes wide open at all aspects of the story of America then we will fail as democracy, with your comments about not being Marxists or a communist sympathizer, I assume you like democracy. If any group of American's rights under the constitution are impeded, all Americans are in jeopardy of losing their rights. Why is this so hard for right-wing die-hards to understand. I would offer that if you don't sympathize with people who were persecuted maybe you just don't understand their plight. Thanks for sharing your perspective, you are part of the story of this country.

Thanks for sharing your perspective, you are part of the story of this country. Thanks for sharing your perspective respectfully. I do not like democracy. A democracy is mob rule. In the dictionary i once read a democracy is the stepping stone for a republic becoming a communist govt. From a republic, to a democracy, to a socialist and finally a communist govt. We are a constitutional republic. Art 4 Sec 4 of US Constitution. I have no problem acknowledging racism or empathizing with those who have suffered through it. The difference is the left wing agenda which is trying to exert as much white guilt as possible so that white people are too ashamed to resist communist led movements like BLM. Black people are actually being exploited by race baiters who don't care about them or their cause, they just want to use them to do their dirty work politically. That dirty work is overwhelming a free society protected by the Constitution, in favor of a communist style global govt. Like China.

I hate the two party system. I think when you have two parties that you give too much power to two groups. It is easy to start feeling unstoppable and become corrupt when you have a party backing you that can get you out of almost anything. These officials are not held accountable. They do whatever the hell they want with no care who it hurts or how it affects the economy as long as it lines their pockets and keeps their party's votes.
I think there should be no such thing as a political party with no financial backing by any special interests. Makes it absolutely illegal to accept any kind of financial support from any company, or special interest. All candidates will run on their own values, specific to them, which will make it harder to be corrupt if you run on your own beliefs, and you are not accepting donations from outside parties.
The government will have certain sites/marketing things in place that will allow someone to become known as a candidate, which is how candidates are funded (experience, intelligence, military background, leadership in their field, ect.) It will not take race, ethnic background, gender into account. It is all based on accomplishments. There will be a government site where all potential candidates will be completely broken down by accomplishments, videos of interviews with questions on what they would do and how they would do it, awards, communities they have served and helped prosper, financial responsibility, their character and leadership traits. The most qualified individuals will be accepted, max of 10 candidates during an election cycle. There will be no political debate anymore, and candidates must focus on their skill set and what they want to see change, not on their political candidates. Candidates will not even acknowledge their candidates. This is a job interview and hiring candidates don't even know who each other are, more less get to rip their competition. Also, they will not choose their running mates, as the individual with the 2nd most amount of votes will become the vice president.
As for the house, state and judiciary committees...abolish terms longer than 2 consecutive 4 year terms. A politician should have background in a field of business and leadership, and a 2 consecutive 4 year terms should be their max limit, just like the President. They are a public servant and will receive benefits from serving, but not life long incentives like politicians do now. This is how they become corrupt. If you are given no more than 4 years with no future past 8, it will become harder to become corrupt as it should catapult you into a very lucrative civilian job afterwards. Hopefully, most want to do what is best in that short term and serve their fellow American the best they can.
I also think we need to go back to being one nation under God. I am not saying that everyone should believe, but the moral principles behind God is a good way to lead a Nation. I am not saying we have to resort to 1776, but more common sense and focusing on the constitution I think is important. Also, ALL news sources must go away from opinion pieces. Must be straight up boring ass facts, with evidence just like would be laid out in a court. Straight up. No sensationalizing. Talk shows can provide opinions still, but not part of the news source itself.

Many Black folks resented jackie Robinson joining the major . Many supported the Negro Leagues. Robinson joining the major leagues meant the end to the Negro Leagues. There was a boycott of Jim Crow seating in major league games as a form of protest against Jackie Robinsons joining tbe major leagues. Blacks were happy with their own league. Many saw this as an attempt by major league teams to raid Negro League of their star players. Many resented that.
