Eric: am i being hyperbolic in thinking the end of the republic is near? one side, for the last 10 years, has broken every rule and norm and gaslights the country on a daily basis, while the other just tries to play nice and get stomped over on the reg. i think we’re at the point where “rules” and “norms” in government aren’t upholdable anymore.
Keith Law: If Trump wins re-election next November, I’d feel that way.

Orwell: How can so many people avoid the truth? What kind of grip does Putin have on our country?
Keith Law: I never thought I’d see this kind of cultlike devotion to a party or a politician, particularly ones that, in this case, have dedicated themselves to unrolling decades of progress in freedom, equality, or environmental protections. People who live in areas adversely affected by rollbacks in environmental laws continue to profess their intentions to vote red. It’s the most effective mass gaslighting campaign I can think of.

Matt: Why are so many old white dudes angry at a 16 year old child that wants to *checks notes* make the world a better place?
Keith Law: Because she’s interfering with their profits, and perhaps their errant belief that we will always be bailed out of our own mistakes.

Monica Lewinsky: Can we impeach Mitch McConnell???
Keith Law: Matt Bevin just pardoned a man convicted of beheading his wife. Maybe we should ask the voters of Kentucky what they’ve been thinking.

Keith Law: If Trump wins re-election next November, I’d feel that way. Rules have been ignored in government for many many years now, just now Trump is bringing this Fecal Matter the Democrats have done in the past to light. He is "draining that swamp" of the corrupt evil politicians that we have lining their pockets and blackmailing society with their f'n government handouts to the poor and the just flat out lazy sons of bitches in this country. They can't get their fat ass off the couch and go get a job because a government handout is too lucrative and easy to throw away. Rules apply, just that Trump has been more transparent than any other President in history so people begin to question that more openly and say this can't be right, this can't be normal because you have one party with so much damn animosity towards one President it is not even funny. What has Trump done, oh I don't know, he is changing the entire landscape of America for the better. That is all. Better economy, more jobs, better trade deals, ending wars, bringing soldiers home and protecting our borders. All of that. If you want more than an "Opportunity" and just expect a "handout", then just get the F out of the country and go find someplace else that affords you this many freedoms and chances. A lot of Americans have become soft, self-entitled pieces of Fecal Matter, and need to get off their ass and make their own future instead of living off the backbone of the working class.

The Democrats with their ridiculous attacks have made me go far right, because they can't stand that there is a President who is not ignoring their corruption. If he is not going to let us continue lining our pockets off the hard working people of this country like we have been doing for 50 years, then I am going to throw a f'n fit and try to get him impeached. Yeah, there is a massive divide in the parties right now, and less by partisanship because those of us that believe the President is doing a great job and is being unfairly treated have to go right wing nut to match the f'n fanaticalism of the damn Democrats. I never thought I would see the damn country where there are so many people so outspoken and hurtful to the leader of our country. I didn't care for Obama, but I never really said anything that would match what Democrats say now. Yes, Trump fuels this crap with his Tweets and his outspoken ways, but you are not wondering how Trump feels and what he is thinking, because he flat out tells you and he has had to defend himself this entire term that I can understand it. What other President would have released that phone call, and had the Ukraine President sit down with our media and ask him to answer the questions honestly? Not a damn one of them, well maybe Lincoln. So yeah, pretty wide split between the parties because the Democrats have caused it.

Keith Law: Because she’s interfering with their profits, and perhaps their errant belief that we will always be bailed out of our own mistakes. Maybe as a 16 year old girl, her parents would have told her not to call the President of the United States out. Trump is not opposed to a green world I am sure, and after he puts America back in the drivers seat as THE world power, I am sure he will review that. As it sits, there is little to no room to even discuss that Fecal Matter because he has bigger issues, and he is trying to keep his promises that he ran on for his Presidency and defend himself from the corruption of Washington. Maybe if the Democrats would have left him the F alone, he would have more time to think about extra programs that can help with a more green planet. Some of the Fecal Matter that little girl is asking for is just unrealistic and while America has a big carbon footprint, we are not the only country in the world needing to step up. How about South America wanting to cut down huge swaths of rain forest for shopping malls? How about the dumping of trash in our oceans by other countries? How dare you Mr. President? How dare you!

One thing is certain: Keith Law is a far left dude. It's not surprising that he feels this way
What bothers me most is how hateful and partisan America has become. This impeachment bit has made this much, much worse. Democrats hammer Trump every day, accusing him of everything in the book and in turn the Republicans join forces and attack back, calling Schiff and Pelosi every name they can think of. The positive for Republicans is that it's united them and motivated them to fight back against this and the corrupt press. But I can't watch cable news anymore. CNN/MSNBC is attacking/hating Trump all day. Fox is hating on Schiff, Pelosi, Comey and Biden in response. Democrats accuse Trump of crimes. Nothing will come of it. Republicans are now fighting fire with fire accusing the FBI, Biden and a corrupt anti-Trump establishment with crimes. Nothing will come of that either. All the while nothing gets done for Americans. I really wish the Press would quit with their 90:10 negative:positive reporting of Trump and that the Democrats would stop trying to remove a duly elected President. Until this happens we'll have no peace in Washington.
The difference between Trump and other Republican leaders such as Bush, Romney and McCain is that he'll fight back...maybe too much at times...but he'll fight back and this is why GOP voters nominated him in 2016. They were tired of wimps that just took the negative bashing. GW Bush took it, never fought back and he left with approval ratings in the mid 20s and a Republican party to pay the price in 2008. McCain refused to use certain tactics vs Obama such as his church or his relationships with far left folks like Bill Ayers. Romney also refused to hammer Obama with Benghazi and basically disappeared in the last two weeks of the 2012 campaign. He played a prevent defense thinking he had the election in the bag. It cost him. Now we have a guy who doesn't turn a cheek when he gets bashed. He hits back twice as hard
As for Keith Law and other far left folks, be more open minded. Not everyone agrees with you. Some of us like Trump's deregulation, court appointees, making NA/to pay their fair share and renegotiating with Mexico and China. We also like his tightening our regulations to immigrate to this country. Far left people need to understand this. I know far left folks believe in open borders but I don't hold that against them personally. I don't think that makes them deplorable. That's the difference.
