Finnegan made his first appearances of the season for the Lookouts following a very extended spring training.
They were both in relief. 3 IP, 2H, 0 ER, 1 BB, 3K.
He'll be six-year minor league free agent this winter if the Reds don't add him back to the 40-man or resign him to new deal.
He' still only 26, so in theory he could still turn things around.

Incorrect, won’t qualify for free agency for another year.

AT THIS POINT is it not a sure thing that some team would roll the dice and select him if the Reds didn’t? I would suspect that the Reds would call him up if he continues producing these type numbers to see if he can’t parlay his performances into the big leagues and use that as an audition to make a decision.

If you were a rebuilding club, like the Marlins, I think you'd have to take a serious look. He still has an option year left, so that makes him more enticing.

He's pitched well in his brief appearances in Chattanooga. Given the state of the pen, I'd be completely cool with adding him back to the 40 man now and bringing him up to Cincy to see if he found something.
He's a former 1st round pick and has had success getting big league hitters out in big time situations. I'd much rather see him at this point than Wandy Peralta.

I agree. We have plenty of fluff on our 40-man roster, so we should be able to find a spot for him.
And outside of Garrett, we don't have a southpaw around that could help us in the bullpen unless Cody Reed ever pans out.

He's got to come up when Amir finally has to serve his suspension, right? I know it won't necessarily be one for one, but still, he's had success and experience.

You'd have to figure that with the Reds haven't yet given up on him.
OTOH hand, there's Tim Collins in the mix as well. I have to assume Joe Mantiply is not seriously in the mix.

He only needs 22 more days of big league service to qualify for arbitration this winter. If they wait till September 9th to add him to the 40 and 25 man roster they can avoid that. Not that he'd get a huge raise, but saving a couple hundred thousand dollars is in play.
