The Reds and Cardinals have private workouts set up for Cuban OF Luis Robert after his showcase in the DR yesterday.
Cmon Reds, make it happen.
Edit: It also sounds like the White Sox and Astros also have private workouts set for Robert. At least we're in the thick of it.

He isn't a free agent yet and if he isn't cleared by June 15th there is 0% chance the Reds sign him since they are restricted to signings of less than 300K$ for the next 2 years.

True, but the current belief is that he'll be cleared before June. It's also in Robert's best interest to be in this signing period before the hard international caps before active.

Of course it's in his best interest, but he has no say in when MLB declares him a free agent.

The fact that the Reds are restricted from signing any IFA for more than 300,000$ from July 2nd 2017 to July 1st 2019 because they signed fellow Cuban defectors Vladimir Gutierrez and Alfredo Rodriguez, they have to be all in on him. Even if they spend 20M$ (and another 20M$ on top of that in taxes), and even if the odds of him amounting to anything are near 0%.
We all know that they aren't going to spend big money via FA and there isn't anyone that's going to demand a huge extension anytime soon either.
He should either be suiting up for the Padres or Reds and GABP plays better offensively (so if the Reds can outbid SDP then they should be the favorites).

His values are all over the place. Jeffrey Todd thinks he'll sign for more than Moncada.
I don't see it, but it's possible.

I highly doubt he goes for more than Moncada, even if Robert is the last signee of the wild wild west of international signing. Moncada had a higher rated hit, speed, arm, and defense. Even power they tend to say it's even or maybe a slight edge to Robert. I predicted $15-$20 million a while back, and i'll stick with that prediction. Based on what Ben Badler is saying, he's likely going to the highest bidder. Pre-Chapman I never would have thought that could be us, but when we believe, we'll go all in. We loves us some Cubans.

Pretty much everyone goes to the highest bidder, unlikely to see him be any different.
At least 9M$, it's interesting to see CHW in it - they must not have any pre-arrangements with July guys.
