Denorfia missed all of 2007 after his elbow surgery but it likes like he will be the starting CF for the A's this season. Very interested to see how this kid does and wish all the best for him, I remember him being a solid player with lightning speed after stepping in for kearns after "The Trade". He's also from my home state of connecticut lol

I was a bit upset to see him go, but the fact is we were forced to deal him with such an OF clutter. I think he could be a solid player for the As, and I usually trust their ability to make a good team so he should be a valuable part.

I never thought much of Denorfia other than a decent 5th OFer, so i'm fine with him being traded last year. Hopefully McBeth can put it togehter and be a solid man in the pen. He looked good when he first came up last year, but has struggled since then.

yea i didnt mind seeing denorfia go even though i was one of his biggest fan .... when macbeth pitched for the big club in the beginning he was lights out then experienced some growing pains. i still think this kid will be lights out and have high expectations for him in the 09 season, however i was just bringing up an interesting topic as to how he will do in the '08 season and again, i wish nothing but the best for him he was a great clubhouse guy and great competitior.

I'll admit it, I'm a Denorfia fan. I think he could have had a very good year in 2007 had he not gotten hurt. He showed some decent power in 2005 and 2006 - but most importantly, he made contact with the ball! Something I hadn't seen in awhile.
He would have been our first home-grown outfield talent since Kearns was brought up in 2002. I'm partial to home-grown talent because I firmly believe that is the best way to create a team.
I too plan to keep an eye on how Denorfia does in Oakland.
