Ok, no cheating and looking it up. - I spent 3 years with the Reds at the tail end of my career.
- I hit .339 to win an NL batting championship and lead the league in hits in my first year with the team.
- In my first year with the team, I hit .339/.363/.459.
- In my second year with the team, I hit .277/.296/.394.
- In my third year with the team, I hit .301/.339/.417.
- In my three years with the team, I stole 48 bases.
- I was widely regarded as one of the best defensive players at my position in history.
- My off the field exploits brought me greater fame than my on the field play.
Who am I? No cheating.

I like the addition, Lark. I love Reds trivia (I'm among the top 30 on facebook...lol)
That said, I have no clue who it is. Any time frame given or is that illegal?

I am thinkin this is a bit before my time. 1998-present is my prime area of knowledge due to the fact that anything before i was under 8yrs old.
I will say with 100% certantey that it was not Mark Lewis, Donnie Sadler, Mike Frank, Chris Stynes or Robin Jennings.
Taking a complete shot in the dark
nvm no clue lol

My guess, unless we're given a time frame later, is.....
Pete Rose.

lol Ok, let's see, another clue or two. I'm one of the rare players who bats right and throws left (<-- that tells you more than you might first realize).
I was teammates with Jim Bluejacket, Greasy Neale, and Christy Mathewson. My favorite part of baseball is "throwing." And, evidently, some consider me royalty.

Lark I had to look that one up, that's not even fair! I'll explain why after everyone else gives up.....lol lol Seems fair to me. Just not necessarily easy. But, hell, maybe I've gone too obscure. There's a reason why I don't create trivia questions. I'll give another couple of hours, maybe someone will get it.

It could be Hal Chase as he was called the Prince or something like that.
Now that I think of it I think its Hal Chase. At first I thought King because of the royalty angle and he did win a Batting title but it was not with the Reds so thats out. I remember Chase was called the prince and he won a batting title as a Red so that has to be it

I remember Chase was called the prince and he won a batting title as a Red so that has to be it lol We have a winner!!!!!! The great "Prince Hal" Chase, infamous for "throwing" ballgames. His reputation for crookedness has long surpassed his reputation for play. He was widely regarded as the best defensive 1b in history, but modern statistics don't rate his defensive prowess quite so highly. He won a batting title with the Reds, but only lasted 3 years there. In his prime, his defense was so highly regarded that despite throwing left-handed he played a few games at 2nd base, as 1st base was manned at the time by Peerless Leader Frank Chance. Evidently, Hal was a bit too obscure, so it's probably better that someone else post the next trivia question.

Star is the last person I expected to get that. He just seems like he would be able to tell you the Triple A home run leader for the Reds in 1997.
No offence star
