Holmberg pitched for the Bats, which explains why they got their asses kicked so badly.

Are Crawford and Garrett injured? Crawford is hurt. Garrett started a game and pitched 3 or 4 innings before a rain delay, with the game scheduled to be resumed in a couple of months. Since the game isn't officially over yet it might not be listed as a start... but he's definitely healthy and pitching.

Garrett only got 2.2 IP in before the rains came on Saturday, but those were scoreless he only gave up 2 hits, and had 5 strikeouts already. Very impressive first start, even truncated.

How about a brief update on some 25 man roster candidates in Louisville?
Ivan De Jesus seems to be keeping up where he left off in spring training, going 5/9 with 3 BB and 1 K in his first 3 games. Good for a .667 OBP. I still think he should've beat Chris Dominguez.
Josh Satin hit .289 with a .386 OBP in AAA last year, he's 3/12 with a .308 OBP so far. Hopefully it'll go up.
Yorman Rodriguez has started off 3/14 (.214), but with 3 BB and 4 K he has a respectable .353 OBP. Walks? HIM? To me that seems promising.
Donald Lutz is 2/15 with 1 BB and 4 K.
Sam LeCure has pitched 2.1 innings with 2 hits, 1 BB, 1 ER, and 2 Ks.
Carlos Contreras, another 40 man roster guy (and one of the hardest throwing candidates), has pitched 1.2 innings with 2 hits, 1 ER, and 3 Ks.
Pedro Villarreal, another 40 man roster guy, has pitched 2 innings with 2 hits and 2 Ks.
Ryan Dennick, the 40 man roster spot holding LHP, is leading the team with 5 Ks in 2.2 IP over 2 games. 4 hits, 0 BB, 2 ER.
Nate Adcock pitched one inning, but that's probably less relevant than his spring training performance.
Keyvius Sampson and Matt Magill have been injured, apparently.

It's only 10 games in so far, but Phillip Ervin is hitting .316/.381/.579/.960 so far with 2 HR and 4 2B, along with 3 SB in 3 attempts. It'd be nice if he could right the ship. He looks leaner this year as well.

Mike Lorenzen has started 2 games, going 7 innings in the first start and 6 in the second. In those 13 innings he's given up 9 hits, 1 ER, 3 BB, and 5 K. 0.69 ERA and 0.92 WHIP. With guys like Kris Bryant and Carlos Rodon getting called up I wish Lorenzen would get called up too, to join the rotation.
Carlos Contreras has now pitched 5.1 innings out of the bullpen with 6 hits, 1 ER, 1 BB, and 10 Ks. He's gotten 16 outs and struck out 10 batters. I'm not sure what he has to do to get called up.
Phil Ervin's start in Daytona does seem promising. The worst thing I can see is that he struck out 9 times in 38 ABs, although with 4 walks. Hopefully the strikeout rate goes down...
Alex Blandino hasn't started off well as far as batting average, but he has 7 BBs and only 3 Ks in 30 Abs. If he's demonstrating good plate discipline it seems like the hits will come.
Jesse Winker hasn't hit much yet, going 6/27 in AA, but he only has 2 Ks, so it's not like he's struggled to make contact, and it seems like hits will come.
Nick Howard has walked 9 batters over 10 innings and 2 starts. He's still not given up an earned run, though, so I guess he's doing something right.
