He had a rough first allowing 2 runs, but he didn't let it get out of hand. Plus, from what i've heard the wind is wicked down there today and that played a part. He seems to be rebounding nicely in the 2nd. Thankfully the games are on WLW now so I can at least listen to them.

Patterson just had his second hit in as many at bats... Patterson is a stone-cold, lead pipe lock to be our starting centerfielder.

I would have to agree, and I actually think he will do an admirable job. He can steal over 30 bases and has a good glove, I just hope he can keep his average around .290 as he has never hit over .300 and possibly bring the walks up and K's down a little bit although last season patterson improved upon that a lot. Now what do you think the chances are that the reds carry all of freel, hopper and patterson ??

As long as Bruce is in AAA its easy to carry Freel, Hopper, and Patterson
Griffey Dunn Patterson Hopper Freel
Dickerson is already in AAA. I would rather Hopper get PT over Freel though, and that is a lot of money to be your 5th OFer, that is why most would prefer a trade.

Cueto settled down and finished real strong again 4IP 2 h 2 bb and 4k's. Dunn just tied it at 2 with an impressive homer going against the strong wind

Only allowed one baserunner in innings 2-4, which was a walk to Miquel Cabrera, which is far from the most dangerous thing he can do. Way to recover. The more I hear about him this year, the more I can see Cueto winning 15 games this year and take RoY honors.

JOSE CAPELLAN! Comes in with two outs, bases juiced, facing Miquel Cabrera and strikes him out . Nice. If it meant jettisoning Stanton, i'd have no problem keeping him as the third lefty this year in the pen. Either that or work out a trade with the Red Sox. Only 21, and fits in well with the Dominican Connection forming on the Reds (Cordero, Cueto, Volquez)
