Roger Connor, because it didn't exist then? Nope this player played his entire career in the All Star era.

The All Star game started in 1933. By that time Wilson's career was near done, it is true that he never appeared in a all star game, but if the game had started a decade earlier he most certainly would have. Regardless this player hit around 50 more home runs then Wilson. There are a few players with around 450-500 homers that have only appeared in the game once or twice, like Adam Dunn. Like Wilson however this player had a short career, just 12 years, and did have years that were worthy of MVP votes, his highest finish there was 7th. His career also was entirely in the all star era 1933-to today. So the answer isn't some tricky answer like Wilson where the player could have only made the team at the end of his career.

One name jumps out-Rob Deer. Deer did indeed never play in a all star game, but the player in question hit more then 60 homers then Deer. Rob Deer also never got a MVP vote.

Would the person in question be Kirk Gibson? I remember he turned down the all star game at least once.

Would the person in question be Kirk Gibson? I remember he turned down the all star game at least once. Good guess, Gibson though had a long career, and did indeed never appeared in a All Star game, he is still 40 homers behind the player in question.
