I hit a homerun on my very first at bat with the Chicago Cubs, but my last homerun was for the Reds, one of six I would hit in my half a year with the Reds.
Most people remember me for my days with the San Diego Padres, for whom I played six years including a very disappointing postseason.
I played against the Reds in the postseason the year just before I played for the Reds. The guy I was traded for is the answer to a famous trivia question.
Who am I?

Had to do some research for this one. Since I couldn't remember who was on every post playoff season Reds team.
I'm going with Carmelo Martinez. Played for a disappointing 91 team. I think Rijo was the only one that remembered how to get batters out that year, not as bad as the 1989 team though.
Carmelo was a mediocre bench bat that year that got way to much playing time since I think I remember him being a poor defensive player. THough he didn't frustrate me as much as some other Martinez that was suppose to be a good glove OF that was just horrible.
He played for the Pirates the year prior on the team that lost to the future World Champion Reds, and was traded for Todd Benzinger, so I'm guessing the famous triva question is who caught the final out of the 90 series.
He also hit in the .100's in both playoff series for the 84 Padres.

Now it is frustrating me that I can't remember who this horrible defensive OF was. He wasn't with the Reds long and I believe he was a late inning caddy for Dunn. I don't think he ever started a game. I don't think it was Carmelo Martinez.

Martinez was a very poor infielder and mainly platooned with Hal Morris at 1B during his brief tenure with the Reds and was really awful during the Padres 1984 WS run, barely batting .184. The famous trivia question I was thinking of was who broke Orel Hershiser's scoreless inning streak, but either one works for Benzinger. Good job!
