I don't understand why we just cut this guy. I don't mind that hes not on the team anymore with votto and hatte holding down first and phillips also having a good spring training but I really feel like we could have squeezed out at least a draft pick for the guy. He does have talent and is currently tearing up spring training batting .452 with 7 doubles 2 homers and 9 rbi's. Anyone have any insight on this ?

No, this is one that completely baffled me as well. He produced as the RH platoon at 1B last year, could play a couple other positions in a pinch, and was still cheap. No idea why we let him go.
Oh well, nothings gonna change it now.

I cant explain it either. Just like I cant explain signing hatty who si still a solid hitter but is a lefty and wont I hope be taking any AB's from Votto also a lefty

I think Hatte is the insurance plan in case Votto has a crappy year. Not to mention he is a good guy in the clubhouse, a solid veteran who can impart some wisdom, and could be a decent trade chip at the deadline.
