I'm guessing Ross gets DL'ed so Dusty can keep Bako in the mix.
Even though he's been allowed to play in major league games this week, David Ross (back) could still head to the DL, according to the Cincinnati Enquirer. Managerment wouldn't deny it. "We wanted to test to see where he's at," GM Wayne Krivsky said. "He missed 75 percent of the game." If Ross goes on the DL, then any remaining chance of Joey Votto being sent down would seem to be gone. Javier Valentin and Paul Bako would catch. Source: Cincinnati Enquirer

Agreed, this just gives them a more extended look at Bako....not sure why we need it, though. He obviously can't throw runners out and Javy's a better offensive threat. Seems pretty clear to me.
