Here is my projected AA lineup, which will be pretty thin until some of the High A guys get called up which should be around the all star break.
1. Jose Castro, SS (Acquired in a trade last year, hit pretty well, little guy with decent contact skills)
2. Sean Henry, CF (Decent outfield D, a little offensive potential, but probably an organizational type player already)
3. Shaun Cumberland, RF (Has some pop in his bat, but needs to improve contact)
4. Craig Tatum, C (Lit up the Arizona fall league last year, has good power, and is improving his OBP tendencies slightly, except for maybe Castro really the only prospect in the AA lineup, and part of that is because he is a decent catcher defensively)
5. Tonys Gutierez, 1B (Pretty much by default)
6. Michael DeJesus, 2B (mostly glove)
7. Caonabo Cosme, LF (He has a funny name)
8. Eric Eymann, 3B (I originally had him on the bench until it looked like Dorn and Griffen were both gong to start in AAA)
Tatum is the only one with a bona fide shot to start any time soon, and that isn't saying much when you are talking about being in AA already. Tatum could open 2009 as the Reds starting catcher. There are a few pitchers worth watching in AA, namely:
Daryll Thompson
Alex Smit
Ben Jukich
Odds are that at least one decent RP prospect will emerge here as well.
