Valaika still raking in AA. Game still in progress he is 2 for 2 with a 2B and a BB.
Maloney got touched up for 6 runs in 7 IP on 3 HR with 8 ks vs 2 BB. Disappointment of not getting the callup?

Or just trying too hard to show that they made a mistake? Or maybe the GM knows that he isn't really ready to pitch in the major leagues and this proves it.

Eh, everybody has a bad day. He gave up three home runs today, compared to one in all of his other starts combined. I would call it a bad day rather than a sign of things to come.

Drew Stubbs was 1 for 3 with 3 BB last night. Despite only a .269 avg. his OBP is now at .383 and he has a 15 game on base streak going. I know everyone wants to see his average higher, and I think it will creep back up to the .290 range or so over teh course of the season, but you can't deny that he is getting on base proficiently. While he does have 60 K in 56 games, 36 BB is a nice counter balance to that. I have to wonder if he will have something similar to what Bruce has been having in that once he faces better pitching he won't be chasing bad pitches as much as the quality of pitcher will be that much better. Don't get me wrong, Stubbs will probably alwyas have his fair share of K's, but facing good pitching may actually improve his K rate if that makes sense. He is developing a good batters eye, and stealing some bases, 19 on the year so far. If he gets hot and gets his avg back to around .300, he'll have an OBP over .400 to go with that.
Valaika ended up 3 for 4 last night and over the last week has raised his average from .221 to .276 in AA. He is walking at a better clip in AA as well as he already has more walks in AA than he had in High A desptite p;aying in 8 fewer games. his OBP in AA is at .343.
