It looks like Wood is finally starting to shake off his injury woes for the S. Reds. What's the word on him?
I use to have very high hopes for him.

Still only 21, so he definitely still ahs some time, but while his ERA has been solid so far, he is still hovering around a 2:1 K/BB ratio and his WHIP is 1.29, which, while not bad by any means, is no great shakes in High A. If he can continue to pitch well and lower his walk rate, I could maybe see a AA promotion after the MiLB all-star break, but thats only if he really turns it on.

I think the key for Wood is to rediscover his velocity after shoulder soreness last year. He's got a dynamite changeup, but needs to improve his other offerings.
I'm encouraged by the start to his 2008 campaign and hope he continues to build on it. His 2007 effort resulted in him sliding well down most prospect lists, so hopefully he can regain his footing.
