How has he been doing this year? I still can't believe we drafted him. He's exactly the type player Jim Bowden likes.

I would say its time to label Stubbs as a 1st round bust. This is not to say he won't make the big league club at some point as a 4th or 5th outfielder.........but you don't draft and spend a $1.8 million$ bonus on a 5th outfielder.
A College outfielder taken in the 1st round should have progressed further than high A ball by now. I was holding out hope until I saw what he could do in Sarasota but I've seen enough now.
Major bust by the same crew who will be conducting the upcoming draft (Krivsky's guy, can't remember his name).

He is on a cold streak right now but still has a .360 OBP, and has stolen 14 bases. Not to mention he would be the best defensive OF the Reds have had in years. He'll end this year in AA, and will probably get a callup sometime in 2009 somewhere between May-September.

It's terrible, and not improving significantly. He's another Corey Patterson in waiting. A college hitter taken in the 1st round has to be doing better than this by now. I still think he'll make it, just not as a major impact player. 1st rounders need to be impact players if you're the Cincinnati Reds.
