Here are my weekly reports for the Cincinnati Reds Minor League Organizations: Yearly Hitter TotalsYearly Pitcher TotalsHitter Game Logs 4/7-4/13Pitcher Game Logs 4/7-4/13Brandon Waring had finally had hit hitting streak broken going 0 for 3 in game two of yesterdays double header, but last week he still hit .474 with 2 HR, 6 rbi, 7 runs and only 3 Ks in 6 games. Jay Bruce had a nice bounce back week hitting .407 with 2 HR, 6 rbi, 5 runs, and 2 SB in 6 games. Todd Frazier hit .381 for the week with 3 HR, 6 rbi, 7 runs, and a 1.458 OPS. Drew Stubbs hit .429 on the week with 5 SB in 5 attempts, and had 7 runs. He hasn't shown the power yet, but he is looking like an ideal leadoff hitter with a .457 OBP and 7 SB on the year. Juan Francisco hit .333 on the week with 2 HR, 8 rbi, 5 runs, and 3 2B . Francisco has only commiteted 1 error on the year so far at 3B, and has the best infield arm in the system according to BA. Chris Valaika hit .387 with 1 HR, 4 rbi, 6 runs, and 1 SB on the week. Keltavious Jones is finally getting some PT in Low A and hit .286 witha .375 OBP, 1 SB, 4 runs, and only 1 K in 16 AB's. Daryl Thompson, Homer Bailey each had a good start last week while Jordan Smith and Travis Wood each notched two good starts and only 1 run allowed between their combined 4 starts. Jeff Jeffords continues to dominate Low A hitting in relief along with Phil Valliquete. Sean Watson and Ramon Geronimo both had stellar weeks in reliefin High A.

Not as pertinent now, but I created a Game Log per Player as well so if you want to see their logs from every game of the year, just request it and I can post it up on file factory. This will be a little more neat around mid year where you can see 50-70 games at a time.

Nicely done!
I have to wonder why we are wasting our time with Frazier and Waring at Low-A ball. They are polished, college players, so they SHOULD be faring well against that level of competition.
It's time to bump them up to Advanced-A, where the competition might begin to test them a bit.
As for Waring, I still worry about the strikeouts. The better the competition, the more frequently they will expose his inability to make contact. If he's striking out this much against Rookie League and Low-A pitching, how much will he strikeout against High-A and Double-A pitchers??

I would leave Waring in Low A for a bit to work on the K's and get a little better contact, albeit in his defense he is drawing some walks as well. For his kind of power, K's are an acceptable alternative. Frazier I think ends up in LF. He has a good enough bat to play there, and with his athelticism he should be above average to a fring plus defender in left. he has already had a lot of errors at SS this year, and I think Francisco is the one who will stick at 3B. If it were me, I'd promote Frazier to High A very soon, and move him to left.
