Are they trying to be "Rays-lite"? If so, are they getting in too late now that teams won't deal impact prospects?

I just read this on Bleacher Report Trade Rumors.
Hopefully it doesn't mess with team chemistry since India appears to be the ring leader, but I can understand reasoning.
Teams haven't fully abandoned trading top prospects, just has to be the right teams. Low payroll, low income teams like to hold on to their prospects, where as the higher payroll teams are willing to roll the dice a little especially if the player they are getting back is controllable for 3 more years. Competition is where you get to start improving that players value. If only a team or two are interested in him, you are not going to get much out of him, ask Aroldis. If everyone wants him, Castillo, then you get more in return. We just straight up fleeced the Twins with Mahle.

I understand trading India but It’s a trade I think they will come to regret.
