Elly crushes his first MLB homer. It traveled 458 feet at ~115 mph! His ceiling is so high it's almost scary.

Elly now triples. Hardest two legs of the cycle are out of the way! Fastest time from home to third this season in mlb. Only 2 games in but he seems like the real deal

I don’t think even the biggest optimist would’ve saw all reds top prospects at the high minor league level doing as well as they have to this point. It looks like we’re set in the infield for the next 5-6 years with Noelvi marte, edlc, McClain and CES. Top 4 rotation spots seem promising with Abbott, Greene, lodolo and Ashcraft. And going into FA next year with plenty of flexibility with no big contracts on the books.
Exciting time to be a reds fan.

Will Benson cranks a walkoff winner. The Reds are taking it to the mighty Dodgers!
Man, Benson does a lot of things well, if he could just get the strikeouts under control....

I think Marte at third, edlc at short, McClain at 2b and CES at 1st makes the most sense long term. Keeping EDLC at 3b or moving him to cf just to keep India at 2b seems silly to me when McClain is the better defender at 2b. India either gets moved to LF, DH or you explore trading him for young, controllable pitching. What’re your thoughts

What’re your thoughts The most important thing is that Elly plays shortstop....unless he shows he's below average. Elly has to be slotted into his most valuable position, everyone slots in around Elly. I agree that with you on Elly at shortstop and McLain at second. I'd go with the following: 1b CES 2b McLain 3b India ss Elly lf Steer rf Marte

That is what I would go with also.

That is what I would go with also. Yeah, and there is, of course, still risk with CES and Noelvi, given that they haven't even arrived yet. There are countless guys who tear up triple-A and then scuffle in the bigs; Matt Mervis feels like a good recent example. And Noelvi hasn't even reached triple-A yet. So, while it's too early to count on any of these new guys, I'm already comfortable with Elly, and, to a lesser degree, McLain. I also feel like Steer could be an odd man out, as I'm not sure his bat/defense profile as well in a corner outfield spot, but we'll see. But, as of now, I feel like slotting in Elly, McLain, and India is the way to do it. The others have more to prove.

Kershaw whiffs Elly, but Elly's approach was good. He swung at the pitches in the zone and took the pitches out of the zone. He was down 0-2 and made Clayton come back into the zone to get him.
